It finally happened. I\u2019m publishing a book on self-help.<\/a><\/p>\n Mind you, it is something I did before, but a lot has changed since I wrote my first book and this one. I no longer see publishing a single book as \u201cthe pathway to becoming the next J.K. Rowling.\u201d For context, this was during the time when Rowling wasn\u2019t an openly biggoted transphobe. I no longer see the self-help industry in the way I did before all those years ago either.<\/p>\n It\u2019s become clear and distinct as my writing has shifted and changed. That\u2019s been further reinforced by the people I\u2019ve met, honing my writing skills and growing as a human being.<\/p>\n This growth has culminated in a book that is truly fitting of me and my work thus far. The book is called\u2026<\/p>\n This Isn\u2019t a Self-Help Book<\/strong><\/p>\n And below is a list of reasons to consider purchasing this book. A book that’ll be out on July 8th, 2026.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_heading title=”It’s Unconventional” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n I call myself a weird self-help guru, and that’s by design. After all, what I try to deliver is unconventional from typical self-help gurus.<\/p>\n And you\u2019d be right.<\/p>\n My book is no exception to this rule, as my advice stems from previous articles I’ve written. Otherwise, it’s from research or from conversations I’ve had.\u00a0As a result, the book is a convenient source of information.<\/p>\n \u00a0Not only that, but it breaks away from the conventional rule of self-help quite a bit. Not to spoil the book, but I have it divided into two sections.<\/p>\n The \u201cself-help guru tropes\u201d and \u201cthe practical part.\u201d<\/p>\n The tropes are me talking about the common pitfalls that self-help gurus often lay when selling you \u201cthe dream.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the practical part is my advice distilled in several systems that you can implement in your own life. These are the systems that I\u2019ve also used in my own life or seen others use.\u00a0<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_heading title=”My Book On Self-Help Is Brief” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Now you might be thinking with this book demanding two full sections (and with 10 total chapters) that this book would be\u00a0hefty<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n But that\u2019s where you\u2019d be wrong.<\/p>\n You\u2019ve seen the picture above. You saw the \u201cNot for Resale\u201d stamp plastered in the middle of this basic design book. It\u2019s really not that long.<\/p>\n And to give you a number, it took me roughly\u00a0a few hours <\/strong>to read it from front to back. The reason I know that is because I’ve thoroughly edited this book three times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n And I\u2019m a fairly slow reader.<\/p>\n Unlike a lot of other books on self-help, this book is not long. Its size is deceptive because I used a bigger font and more spacing. All in the name of making this book 106 pages long (maybe less).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_heading title=”It’s Practical” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The practicality of this book bleeds into everything. Even in the tropes part, I’m offering clear solutions. There are even a few pointed personal perspectives in there too.<\/p>\n And I’m doing that deliberately because I want this book to spark conversation. After all, so many gurus keep us stuck in loops and continue to promise their words will fix it.<\/p>\n And that never seems to happen.<\/p>\n So instead of more gaslighting or pretending I have a wild idea, I want to be direct. I want us to talk about your growth and your journey. And above all, share some tools that can guide you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Of course, you\u2019ll need to put in effort to make it happen. but this book will at least serve as a means of getting the ball rolling.<\/p>\n Again, the advice I\u2019ll be offering in that book stems from years of understanding this industry and showing what\u2019s behind the curtain rather than gatekeeping it behind expensive coaching or distracting you with pseudoscience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_heading title=”My Book On Self-Help Is Cheap” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n With that in mind, how much am I asking for this knowledge in the first place? Truthfully not that much.<\/p>\n I have both an ebook version and a paperback copy ready to publish on July 8th.<\/strong> Their prices are set at $7.54 CAD and $16.50 CAD respectively.<\/p>\n Part of my pricing philosophy overall is that you\u2019re paying for convenience\u2019s sake, as a lot of what I\u2019ll be talking about in my book is much of the same I\u2019ve written over the years. While you could be reading all of that on the cheap through my posts on Medium, this blog, or watching\u00a0<\/span>my videos on Youtube<\/a>, this is a more\u00a0convenient resource for you.<\/strong><\/p>\n After all, instead of spending several hours scouring through my articles, posts, and videos, there\u2019s a convenient and brief book that outlines my full philosophy and some ideas to go with it. People have continued to use AI to lazily publish thoughtless articles or even books.<\/p>\n And as a writer, this method isn\u2019t something I agree with, and I find it validating that others\u00a0<\/span>share my sentiments too<\/a>.<\/p>\n The joy of writing is the act of writing itself, and your choice of words expresses how you feel and how you communicate to other people. Using AI bypasses all of that and reveals that you can\u2019t even bother to treat your audience as people.<\/p>\n As such, I\u2019m happy to announce that my book had no heavy use of AI-tools in its creation.<\/p>\n The cover I made myself. Meanwhile, with editing, I have a tool that makes minor editing fixes. Pointing to actual studies or the random news headline discussing a specific event, I wanted to cover my tracks. I want to show you that this isn\u2019t some \u201cancient wisdom\u201d that I\u2019m pulling out of thin air.<\/p>\n Nor do I want what I\u2019m talking about in the book to be some mind-blowing phenomenon that completely changes your way of life.<\/p>\n As an emphasis on the practical part of this book, this book is based on my personal observations and grounded in reality. It’s enough for me to pick up what this industry really is about and pool that knowledge and experience into something simple.<\/p>\n \u00a0Beyond that, I’ve fully settled in with the kind of guru I want to be… a rather\u00a0weird guru.<\/em><\/p>\n And picking up this book will make it just a little bit easier for me to continue doing what I’m doing and then some.<\/em><\/p>\n Even if you’re not someone who wants or needs to be buying this book, I would at least encourage you to leave a review of the book to help appease the Amazon algorithm.
